Tuesday-Day 2: Walk With Christ/Day of Prayer

A Day of Prayer: Read the following: Bible Dictionary-Prayer-7th Paragraph (As soon as...) Alma 13:28-29, D&C 9:7-8

Challenge for day: Fill your day with prayer. Each time you feel the penny, offer a prayer in your heart. Spend a little more time morning & evening listening, praying to gain a better relationship with our Father & his Son.

Ask yourself: How well do I know Jesus Christ, His birth, ministry, church?
What did He do for me? Would I know Him now if I met Him?

There's a story about an interview for a man that is waiting outside a room who is next. He hears the conversation of two men going on. One is asking the other how well he knows Jesus Christ. The man answers all of the questions correctly, but overlooks a vital item. It's the second person's turn to enter the room, as he approaches the interviewer, he falls on his knees and cries, "My Lord, my God."

Journal: Do I really place my affection of my heart upon the Lord? Is mine a true relationship? Do I stop to hear? Do I listen & do?

14 Day Walk w/Christ

Easter is in two weeks. It's so easy to get caught up in the world's way of celebrating with the Easter Bunny and all, that often we forget the real meaning the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I am taking a walk with Jesus for the next fourteen days and would love you to join me.

The only way we can really know another person is to walk in his shoes; think what he thinks, learn what he knows, say what he would say and do what he would do. Christ said, "Come follow me." I invite you to follow our Savior in all that you do & say.

You may say, 'I'm not good enough, I've sinned, He won't want me.' Even though I promise every Sunday that I will always remember Him, I often forget by Monday. We all make mistakes. Remember He loves you unconditionally. You can do it. With God everything is possible.

Henry Ford said, "If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right."

Each morning make time to read the scriptures and challenge for the day. Drop a penny in your shoe or pocket, remembering that the penny says, "In God We Trust." The penny is a constant reminder that you are trusting in God to help you grow and change as you focus on Christ. Get a small notebook to record your thoughts & feelings each day as you evaluate how you did. If you miss some days, do those that appeal most to you.

Day 1: An Invitation to Walk with Christ
Read: John 8:12, John 1:27-28, 2 Nephi 31:12-13

Concentrate on walking WITH Christ. Strive to act as he would. Each time you feel the penny, have a prayer in your heart that you'll be able to come closer to Christ and walk as HE does with faith in our Heavenly Father & genuine love for others.

"Follow the pathway of the Lord. Walk in His footsteps." the poem by Daniel S. Twohig
I walked today where Jesus walked, in days of long ago;
I wandered down each path He knew, With rev'rent step and slow.
Those little lanes, they have not changed-A sweet peace fills the air.
I walked today where Jesus walked, And felt His presence there.

I knelt today where Jesus knelt, Where all alone He prayed;
The Garden of Gethsemane-My heart felt unafraid!
I picked my heavey burden up, And with Him by my side,
I climbed the Hill of Calvary, Where on the Cross He died!

May you be blessed in all that you do, as you work toward achieving this goal.
I walked today where Jesus walked, And felt Him close to me!

Green is My Favorite Color

Colleen, is an Irish name, which means ‘girl, lass or maid’, even though the family isn’t native to Ireland. It’s pronounced ‘Calling’ in the east&
‘Coal-een’ in the West. Grandpa Crane wanted to call me Goldeen, but Mom wouldn’t hear of it. They had such a disagreement about it that my Grandfather Park performed the blessing pronouncing my name. Eventually, Dad came around, which I’m glad of because Goldeen wouldn’t have been my choice either.

Growing up there were two other Colleens to compete with, both very fun and friendly. Once we all decided to go by a nick name. I chose Cookie. It was fun to call one another by our new names. Our last names all described something: Crane, Nicols & Seal.

When I worked at Discover Card to phone people in the East, I would use the pronunciation ‘Calling’ and my usual name sound if I dialed other states. Find out what your name means, why your parents chose it & tell us what you think.

P.S. I love the color green, as it means spring is coming. Are you wearing it today?

Do you wonder what they're doing now? They certainly have had many jobs, surgeries, kids and experience over the years. Tell us what you know.

We'll be showing photos and such of the Crane siblings wedding festivities over the 2009 year. We'd like you to guess who they are & how long they've been married & if you think they've changed.

Noah is in the newspaper - 2 weeks in a row!

I work part-time for our local newspaper - The Othello Independent. My editor has a policy of no children of employees can be in the paper. This is frustrating but I can see her point. A miracle has happened - his name or photo has been in the last 2 weeks!

You can see a copy of the paper at www.othelloindependent.com. The current issue is "flipping" on the page.
For the current issue of 3/4 you can find his name on page A8. Look at the Walmart ad in the bottom left corner. He is the winner for Hiawatha. Our Walmart did a phone book recycling contest. The elementary student from each schhol that brought in the most phone books to recycle won a Nintendo DS & game, the Jr High student a digital camera and the high school student a laptop. It is rather embarassing the small amount he brought in compaired to the others - but he still won! Noah's best friend from school is also on that same page (RJ) under the haeding Phone Book Mania.
For the issue of 2/25 you can find Noah on page A6 in the top left hand photo with Captain Zero. Noah's wearing a red shirt and looking at his collection of 100 dinosaurs for 100 days of school.

Romance is in the Air

Jory has a girlfriend, Sarah Sargeant. She's from Orem and will be 21 on March 6th. Sunday, he brought her to meet the family, siblings, neices, nephews and all. We welcomed her with open arms and hope our antics didn't scare her off. Aaron was quite frank about Allan's bad habits, I put her to work helping with the meal, Brayle was a master waitress and Hunter gave her a big hug.

All in all, I hope she looks beyond our faults to the gem of a man that Jory is.
